adventdrabbles day 12 and for
calico_jynx - happy holidays!
Church bells made Remus think of Sirius – brash and beautiful and prone to ring at inconvenient times. When he wasn't awakened by the bells ringing for morning service, he was jolted out of his sleep by Sirius and one of his wild ideas.
This morning, it was both – Sirius burst into Remus's flat just as the bells started tolling. "Come on, Moony, you've got to see this."
He grabbed Remus by the hand and dragged him through the door and down the dark and narrow staircase. Remus grabbed a robe in passing and struggled to pull it on. "Sirius, I'm not –"
"You're not coming fast enough, I know." Sirius yanked harder on Remus's hand and pulled him outside.
The church was next to Remus's flat, its stained glass windows dark with age and its stone arches almost drooping. Sirius pulled Remus past it, through the secret twisty passageway between buildings to the lot behind.
It was a motorbike, standing there proudly and gleaming, all silver and black. "Isn't it brilliant? Come on, let's take it –"
Remus framed Sirius's face with his hands and kissed him silent. "Shower, clothes, breakfast, and then we'll go for a ride. All right?"
