It's the kind of tree that Harry saw at the Dursleys – a look-but-don't-touch tree that presided over a pile of presents, seventy-two of them wrapped in shiny paper for Dudley and old socks in a bag for Harry.
It's not at the Dursleys, though, and Harry's not locked in his cupboard. He comes down the stairs, his hand trailing behind him on the banister – each step takes him closer to the tree. He takes a deep breath.
"Draco?"
Draco pops out from behind the tree, arms outstretched. "Surprise!"
He twirls Harry in his arms, spinning him around until they stand under the mistletoe. Harry points up, and Draco nods, kissing him. "I know," he says. "This … I wanted to make up for all those other years."
It's the kind of tree Harry's never had before – not at the Dursleys, or in all his years at Hogwarts. A Christmas tree and a bough of mistletoe shared with just one other person.
There are things that words cannot say – Harry says them with kisses. "Happy Christmas."
