Factorials and Foods and Foliage
Oct. 9th, 2008 11:28 pm1. Dreadful: I thought today's lesson on probability was going quite well ... until I discovered that two out of my sixteen students did not know what a factorial is. *facepalm* Juniors in college, they are. Majoring in the sciences. Factorials.
2. Awesome: The food at our "Brideshead Revisited" reading group tonight! We watched the first part of the movie (the old version), and had food that matched! When Sebastian and Charles had strawberries and champagne under a tree, we had strawberries and champagne. When Sebastian served plover eggs, we had quail eggs. (So tiny and cute and hard to peel!) When Charles's father was pretending that Jorkins was an American, we had delicious warm apple pie. When we finished the movie, we had the *most* delicious chocolates from this Beacon Hill chocolatier. SO good. *swoons*
I am completely, completely, completely in love with Sebastian. He's absolutely crushable, and so hot in the movie! And Aloysius! <3
3. Confusing: I am still undecided about whether I should go on the lab hike tomorrow. If I went, there would be beautiful scenery and a chance to see the foliage (on a mountain named after me) and lovely food and beer at a good pub; also there would be four hours in the car with M. If I didn't go, there would be productivity in lab, the possibility of good food and drinks at home, and the possibility of getting work done on my HD Hols fic. *ponders*
