eeyore9990 - she requested this prompt and glasses!kink. Happy BBTP day, hon! :)
1. Spock wears glasses when he needs to see particularly well. They're black-framed glasses that make his eyes look large, making him somehow look older and more innocent at the same time.
He isn't blind. He has perfect vision – but when he wants to see Jim, really see him, see how he's stretched out and how he's begging for it, how he's hurting and how much he can be hurt, then Spock wears his pair of old-fashioned glasses and squints through them, gauging the exact angle and moment of each blow.
2. It's illogical. All of sex is, really, in spite of Spock's arguments about the beneficial side-effects accrued upon release of certain hormones, et cetera ad nauseum.
Pain is only logical in terms of evolution, and sex is only logical in terms of reproduction, and what they do is neither. Jim's kind of proud when he figures that out, and he doesn't give a shit when Spock doesn't return his grin.
Deep down, Spock is illogical – no one can see it but Jim, but he can see it and that's enough.
3. No matter how often he insists that they increase his vision, Spock only started wearing the glasses in bed when Jim told him that they're sexy. He's vain after all – the awkward haircut and regulation-standard uniforms don't suggest anything more than Vulcan perfection and Vulcan attention to detail, but Spock is concerned about his appearance. Most of the time, he's determined to appear to his greatest disadvantage.
When Jim changes that – when Jim jumps him in every corner of the ship, every maintenance closet and empty observation deck he can find, Spock doesn't change. He still wears the uniform, even when he's off-duty, but his lips quirk in something that might be a smile when Jim compliments his appearance. Point taken.
No one else understands the joke, but that doesn't matter to them.
4. Spock doesn't hurt himself – though he never pleases himself either, Christ – but he feels it all through Jim, through the melds they share.
The force of each blow, the pain of orgasm denied, the cold floor under his knees, Spock knows it all. It's less than a penance for everything he's lost – it could never be that.
It's less than pleasure, more than pain, and he metes it out and he takes it in.
5. Spock overhears Jim when he tells Bones that "Sometimes pain can drive a man harder than pleasure."
Spock never eavesdrops – not intentionally – and truth be told, Jim knows that he's there and can feel him through the bond they share.
He hears Jim, and although he wouldn't admit it for the world, that flush of green along his cheekbones is a veritable blush. Jim winks at Bones and hurries back to his quarters –Spock will be wearing his glasses, waiting for him there.
