Title: Out of the Fire
Author: lesyeuxverts00
Word Count: 100
Rating: R
Challenge: 40 - breakfast
Warnings: slavery, not a fluffy Snape
Disclaimer: Not mine.
AN: Sequel to Crucible
Potter, eager to please, soft and malleable as tin, pours the tea.
Severus sits, unbalanced without the manacles, and accepts a piece of buttered toast.
"I ... I'm sorry about earlier."
Butter, thick and creamy – Severus schools his expression, hiding the bliss of that taste.
"You may salve your conscience as you like, Mr. Potter, but you will not excuse your actions."
Severus reaches for the silver knife, the blackberry jam, without a reprimand.
Breakfast, without the press of uncompleted chores, without the stranglehold of the manacles on his magic – he watches Potter squirm and sits back to enjoy it.
