When Potter touches him, Severus believes. He stills his shudders, turns from the dark abyss.
Fingers warm on his cheekbone, on his neck, at the base of his spine, a flutter of lips on his forehead and a palm pressed against his heartbeat, Potter's touch awakens him.
Potter gathers Severus's tears with a fingertip and tastes them. He heals the gaping hole in the green grass before leading Severus away from the tomb.
Potter's lips press against Severus's earlobe. "He forgave you. I forgive you."
Severus reaches for Potter's hand, traces each sharp knuckle, each precious vein, and he believes.
