Moonlight on silver and shadows on starlight – the images dance before Sirius. They're faint and wavery, as though he sees them through thick water. He waits.
Fluid fills his lungs – he can't breathe. The world bobs around him, and Sirius shakes his head to clear it.
Sparks, a battle, a thousand curses red and green, and it's all out of his reach. One thing comes clear, Harry with his spiky hair and urchin grin. He's tall and pale, knocked over by a blasted column.
The water clears his lungs, and Sirius chokes on the air - released, he goes to Harry.
