Luna brought Pansy down to the willow-pond, a basket under her arm and her hat askew in the morning rain. There were a dozen things that Pansy wanted to say, but she held her tongue.
Luna freed a frog before pulling a teapot out of the basket. She poured for both of them, adding milk and sugar.
Luna lifted the frog to her face, lips pursed, and Pansy spilled her tea. Turning back to her, Luna dropped the frog.
The unkissed frog hopped over to the pond, and Pansy took Luna's hand. The hour was perfect, and they had forever.

The staircase threw Harry into Draco's arms. He hurtled down the spiral, stumbling over his long robes, elbows sticking out and glasses askew.
He tripped when the staircase moved, and Draco caught him. A true Slytherin, he took advantage of the situation, running his hands over Harry's back.
"Are you hurt?" His fingers wandered lower, brushing Harry's arse.
Harry jumped, reflexes still war-sharp. "I, uh - I - I'm late for the ceremony."
He overbalanced, and Draco caught him again. Fingers around Harry's neck, their lips a breath away, he smiled.
"Let's get you there in one piece, shall we?"

Potter was splayed out on the white floors of King's Cross. The Snitch had rolled out of his reach.
Severus bent over him, forcing his eyes open, fingers rough as he checked for a pulse.
The boy stirred, and Severus pulled him up, pounding breath back into his lungs. "Albus told you everything."
His own breath caught, Severus pressed his fingers against Potter's throat. "Did he tell you the truth?"
"Of course," Potter said, limp and beautiful in Severus's arms. "Truth, love – he loved me."
Severus let Potter fall and left him there, the thud echoing in the deep silence.
