hehe, I guess it does come from Latin. Interesting, I don't think of it that way at all at first. :)

Half of medical terminology is Latin is origin, the other half is Ancient Greek. Then you have other languages thrown in as well.~Sophia

hmm, yes. I wouldn't think of this as a medical word per se, but what do I know? Maybe it's the next new treatment for disease x. :)
