Teddy had taught James advanced Arithmancy and how to use the Marauders' Map and that trick with his eyebrows, the best way to look innocent when caught.
It was James, though, who taught Teddy how to kiss. He pulled Teddy into the broom closet, away from the portraits and snoops, and kissed him there without any warning, his lips hard and demanding.
Teddy had never kissed anyone, had never fancied a girl – it all fell into place when he was in James' arms, and he found himself kissing back. It was perfect … better than any Arithmancy problem or clever prank.

Being a Metamorphmagus was good for nothing – especially now that the Ministry had tightened its rules, and Teddy couldn't use his abilities to get through Concealment and Disguise the way his mum had.
He ducked behind a street stand and bought a pair of cheap sunglasses, fumbling with the Muggle money.
Always changing, and never recognized for who and what you were – always changing, and always inconstant, Teddy had never quite settled into his skin. He was as clumsy as his mother.
He shoved the sunglasses up his nose and set off into the crowd. He would succeed at this.

Firewhiskey was as good as any potion – better, when there was no cauldron and no facilities for brewing. Charlie splashed Firewhiskey onto the worn rag and dabbed at Severus's wounds.
He took a swig of Firewhiskey. The fire fed the numbness trapped in his throat, and Charlie coughed until he could breathe.
Dirt and dust, contagions beyond measure, the Shack was filthy and the Firewhiskey was clean. Charlie dabbed at Severus's neck again. If he hadn't sterilized the wounds…
Severus's eyes fluttered open. "Foolish Gryffindor … you shouldn't have stayed."
He drew Charlie down for a kiss, and all was well.

Draco shivered. This had been a mistake.
The theater was frigid, the movie was insipid, and even the popcorn was ruined. It'd been covered by some yellow substance that bore no relationship whatsoever to real butter. (Draco was half-certain that it was a Muggle plot to kill them all.)
Percy pretended to be delighted, but Draco could tell that it'd been a mistake, asking him here.
He shivered again. Percy leaned closer, looping an arm around Draco's shoulders. "Cold?" he asked, whispering in Draco's ear.
Draco nodded, and Percy held him … and perhaps the date wasn't a fiasco, after all.

Date: 2008-07-18 01:27 am (UTC)I think the last is my favorite simply due to the butter plot, but it's hard to choose. You're so good at the drabbles, lady! Love them!
