There's no talk of electricity or plugs, no enchanted Muggle artifacts dancing in the kitchen, no wild pranks left by the twins. There's a ham sandwich and crisps, the first pumpkin juice he's tasted in months, a clean handkerchief.
There's the touch of a warm hand on his shoulder, there's the struggle not to flinch.
"You can sleep in Percy's room. Molly keeps it clean enough, though it may be dusty."
There's the strain at last, the remnants of his pride, hard words swallowed. "You …"
"It's what Albus would have wanted," Arthur says, and then there's nothing left to say.
