Severus ducks, and the cauldron hits the wall. The clang rings like a bell tone, like silver humming in his bones.
His wrists still light and awkward, he bends to pick up the dented cauldron and uses its weight for balance. "You'll pay for this, Potter."
"It's more than copper chains, Snape. I'll force you if I must."
"Saint Potter, son of martyrs, defeater of evil, and slave owner. Will you beat me if I refuse?"
"Remus needs it." The steel returns to Potter, and Severus bows his head.
He thrusts the wolfsbane at Potter. "Chop this into fine pieces."
