Love in the hazy afternoon, love in the stippled shadows cast by moonlight on the bed, love in the kitchen, love in the cellar – as soon as Sirius reached for Remus, as soon as Remus leaned in for a kiss, they were interrupted.

Screams echoed down the corridor and they broke apart, Sirius beating Remus to Harry's room. He checked for a fever and then ruffled Harry's hair, shaking him awake. "Hey," he said. "Bad dream?"

Harry shook his head, blinking, and rubbed his eyes before knocking Sirius's hand away. "I'm fine," he said. "Don't need –"

With a sigh, he fell out of conversation and into sleep, Snape catching his head with a pillow. "Don't you two mutts have somewhere else to be or something to do other than impeding his recovery?"

"Don't you have something better to do, Snivellus ... like wait in Azkaban for your trial?"

Snape rose, drawing his wand, and Remus pulled Sirius away. "Be thankful that I'm not in Azkaban," Snape said, striding up to Sirius and jabbing him in the cheek with his wand. "There'd be no one left to care for your precious godson, not with you determined to abandon him for your –"

Sirius broke out of Remus's grip, and Snape stepped out of the range of his fists. "If you prefer him in a coma –"

"What are you talking about, you –"

Remus caught up with Sirius and clapped a hand over his mouth, stopping the insult. "What do you know, Snape?"

"Make it worth my while," Snape said, leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed and eyes sparkling.

"Protection from the Ministry, a hideaway in any of the Black sanctuaries for as long as you're a fugitive from the law, and an international Portkey if you need an escape." Sirius offered his hand, stepping closer to Snape. "If you betray me and harm Harry, I'll turn you over to the Aurors myself."

Snape nodded and shook hands with him before he stepped aside, opening the path to Harry's bedside. "The three of you combined to cast the curse that killed Voldemort, and the three of you are still bound. The two of you need to heal him, instead of rutting with each other like hormonal –"

Remus stepped in front of Sirius, putting a hand on Snape's forearm. The dark cloth was warm to his touch, a nightmare echo of the Mark that had burned there. "Spare the adjectives, Snape. Just tell us what to do."

Snape's lip curled, and he brushed Remus's hand away. "In words that you will understand – the two of you need to fuck Potter, rather than fucking each other, if he is to heal. It's the only way to knit his soul back to his body and bring him out of the coma."

"Anything," Sirius said, his voice brash and loud in the sickroom. "Anything to heal my Harry."

Love in the sickbed stippled with bars of sunlight, love unconsenting, love in the death of sleep – Snape's whiskey laugh echoed down the corridor as he slipped out of the room, leaving them alone with Harry. His laugh broke their blank stares, taking Remus out of his thoughts.

"Wait," Remus said. He drew Sirius away from the bed, pressing their lips together in a desperate, fumbling kiss.

Harry cried out on his sickbed, thrashing in his sleep, and Remus bent down by his side, sealing his cries off with a kiss. "Stay with us, Harry. Stay awake for us."

He pulled Sirius to the bedside with a look, pushed him onto the bed with rough hands. He reached for Harry, tracing his jaw and pushing the hair out of his eyes.

"Harry," Sirius said, his fingers slipping under Harry's shirt to rub his vertebrae, "Harry, love, stay awake for us."

Love in perfection, three in one – love undivided, love unimaginable – they slipped together under the sheets, hurting and healing and joining in love uninterrupted.
