Title: The light melts to nothing
Author: lesyeuxverts00
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG-13
Challenge: 69 – Pensieve Memories
Warnings: DH spoilers
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Snape is as Harry left him – small in death, his bat-billow and scowl whittled away to slack skin and brittle bone.
Harry kneels. There is no rote or ritual, nothing beyond a fierce, silent prompt – Snape would not want to be seen thus.
Harry unstoppers the vial. He will set it all to rights, memories returned and secrets hidden.
He presses his wand to Snape's temple, and the silver mist coalesces and burns. Snape's face is cast in light, planes and angles sharp – like wax, the light melts to nothing.
Snape coughs, struggling to sit. "What took you so long?"
