As the sunset streamed through the windows, Severus found it. The Headmaster's privilege and power – it was his.

The book fell open to Lily's page. Closing his eyes, he smoothed a finger along the gilt-edged parchment.

She was there when he opened his eyes. All her life was perfectly preserved in the Hogwarts book, her biography neatly framing her portrait.

Severus bent close to her, his nose almost touching the page. "Hello, Lily."

She waved, and his heart leapt. The blood-red moon shone through diamond-paned windows, and Severus sat up through the night.

The book was his for a year.

See, if she remained alive, Slily would be a wonderful pairing! The fact that it CAN'T GO ANYWHERE and is in this tragic What Could Have Been Phase is the reason I OTP Snarry. (No it's not; I just love detentionfic so much more^^)

A sweet and angsty sad drabble, but I just HAVE to say this:
