Fame, glory, death – it was all there. Severus moved from shelf to shelf, cataloguing the new apothecary. He'd need a cauldron, water to brew, air to fan the flames...

"Snivellus, I thought you were dead. What a–"

"Then we're both unpleasantly surprised. What are you doing here?"

Sirius stretched, and his teeth gleamed in his tanned face when he grinned. "Harry suggested I vacation here. What about you?"

The touch of his hands, the taste of his lips, the feel of his breath on Severus's face – it was air and dust and memories, it was over.

Severus turned away. "Nothing."

Warmth behind him, and Sirius's breath on his neck, Sirius's hands on his hips – it was just as it had been at Hogwarts, and Severus's hands shook as he grabbed a shelf to steady himself.

"It can't be nothing. Everyone thinks you're dead."

"They are free to think as they like."

Sirius pulled Severus close, pressed his lips to Severus's neck. "I'm glad you're alive."

Severus's heart thudded as Sirius crushed the air out of him, holding him tight. He turned to kiss Sirius, pressing him up against the shelf of pickled slugs.

Love, passion, life – it was all here.
