Apologies to people I owe comments/e-mails, anyone who was looking for the next installment of Track Changes, or anyone looking for me in chat - am dealing with migraine on top of the usual beginning-of-semester craziness, so maybe don't expect much from me this week. Will update again as I can, but the computer is making my head worse, so. A tout a l'heure.

It's already late, so I can't promise to fill every prompt - but I've been writing some mini-ficlets for , and might have time for a couple of extras. If you'd like me to write one for you, please comment with pairing and kink, and I'll see what I can do!

Star Trek only, I'm afraid, and no promises at all if you request characters from the older series that I'm not familiar with, 'kay? :)

AN: I was inspired by the title of [profile] montana_dan's Snarry Games fic, but (as is usual for me nowadays) my brain took a sharp left turn into Star Trek and decided to stay there. Huge thanks to [personal profile] eeyore9990 for the technical assistance and support and squee. :D
Yes, we are just pretending that Microsoft Word and Track Changes still exist in the 23rd century ... okay?

Ah ... anybody willing to beta Kirk/Spock for me? I seem to have gotten in over my head at [profile] st_xi_kink and umm ... I'll give you cookies if you smack me over the head and help me finish this crazy thing?

I need help with brainstorming/consistency/canon/tying my own shoes ... but fortunately I'm not wearing shoes with laces, so you're safe until winter, as far as that goes. :)

I know, I know, I am just too needy, but ... *puppy dog eyes*?

It's 94F here, and that makes me think longingly of winter. Of how nice it will be to slip on the ice/snow mixture all the way home, because it will be cold enough for water to exist in solid form for more than two seconds. It will be brilliant.

Of course, I'll spend 85% of my time indoors, cursing the cold - but such is the way of things. At least spending 85% of my time indoors will be pleasant, because there are tonnes of fests coming up! So there will be things to read and squee over, and all sorts of fest-y goodness.

After much deliberation, we've decided that [community profile] snarry_holidays is a go this year! Schedule here, rules here. Sign-ups start the 20th, so stay tuned!

[community profile] hp_unfaithful is running an infidelity remix challenge that looks like a blast, so check that out if you're interested in that genre.

[community profile] hd_holidays has sign-ups open already, and you know that's the place to be for lovely winter H/D goodness. :D

Other fests? Shiny? Snow? Air conditioning?

Have you sworn off fests for the year? Far be it from me to break your resolution - head on over to Love A Lurker for a meme, instead, and give some love to the lurkers in your life! :)

Now that my story is posted over at [community profile] snarry_games, I feel that I can tell you all about the story that I didn't write. When I was drinking G&Ts, and flailing over my deadline, and [personal profile] carpet_diemon was keeping me company in the big, scary house where I'm cat-sitting and afraid of the ghosts ... this is what she and I brainstormed. With no ghosts, but featuring a guest appearance from one of the cats.

Snarry Games Bunny, or: Why Too Much Star Trek is Bad for your Brain )

*cough* I think the cross-over genre would have been a better choice for that story - or perhaps consigning it to the depths of my "plotbunny" folder and never letting it see the light of day again. :)

(Don't worry - even though it didn't happen this time, I will still write Snape-is-Spock for you someday, [personal profile] ze_dragon... and yes, more Draco/Chekov for [personal profile] femmequixotic, of course. Star Trek fic coming up later, lol.)

Anyhoooo. Did I mention that my [community profile] snarry_games story was posted?

For my Star Trek/academic geeky friends: The wrath

In other news, I am back from a very successful Beach Day (with no sunburn!), scrambling furiously to get my lab meeting together and prepare a manuscript, and house-sitting in a lovely old Beacon Hill house (complete with three cats, porcelain figurines of many different kinds of animals/fruits/vegetables, and a huge library (I've been reading P.G. Wodehouse) but minus any sort of internet connection.)

*smooches* Don't break the internets while I'm away, 'kay?

(....it might be time for an intervention, guys. Only not seriously, because if you take [profile] st_xi_kink away, it will make me sad.)
