I spilled half a vodka martini on my keyboard last night, and my computer isn't working now. TEARS, CRYING, GNASHING OF TEETH AND ETC. Unfortunately, I have bad computer habits and don't have a recent backup of my files ... EVERYTHING from work and fandom for the past ten months or so. EVERYTHING.
nqdonne and my gay ex-boyfriend saved my sanity and took me out to lunch and made me feel better, though, and everyone seems to think that at the absolute worst, the data will be recoverable. *crosses fingers and prays*
In fandom news ... I have been made of fail lately, and I'm very sorry! RL has been crazy of late, but that's not much of an excuse for my delinquency.
Some belated acknowledgements, then:
It was
penknife who wrote For Blood and Wine are Red for me - and if you missed my earlier squee about it, it's absolutely brilliant and you simply must read it.
You should also check out the
hp_springsmut masterlist ... I meant to do a round of recs, but had no time. Woe ... so much fail. :( But there are many, many, many brilliant fics there to read. :)
I wrote Lightning Strikes for
ladyblack888 in
hp_springsmut ... will be reposting once I have my files back!
wizard_love posted its masterlist also.
xylodemon was the one who wrote Scenes from a Broom Cupboard for me - a completely brilliant fic! I've been sooo lucky in fic exchanges this spring! *beams and shares fic with all y'all*
And I wrote Simulated Love for
violet_quill - again, will repost to my own journal once I have my files back. :)
Should you have fallen asleep this week, or been stuck in some internetless corner of the world, or otherwise preoccupied, you might not have noticed that
hd_worldcup has started posting - yay!!! There have been a LOT of brilliant entries, art and fic alike, from all of the teams. Since I'm on one of the teams, I won't do any recs during the fest, but I do want to urge you to check out the entries that have been posted! The Fool, Judgment, and Cups are the prompts that have been posted so far... lots of brilliant work!
In future fandom news, I must admit that I'll probably continue to be made of fail as far as being around to comment and etc. Lab is kicking my butt lately - that whole "getting ready to present data at an international conference" thing - and I'm still signed up for too many fests, so I'm using the little free time that I have for writing. Sigh, one of these days I'll be caught up with everything! (and then the space-time anomaly will register, the world will stop spinning on its axis, global warming will cause the coastline to flood and Boston will be lost to us forevah, a black hole will be on the verge of swallowing our planet, and the Doctor will come to rescue us at the last minute ... y/y? *drools over David Tennant*)
